Okay so I have been using this ritual for quite some time but I get the impression that I may not be doing it correctly, mostly because the end of it is something that I have never understood. There is the long invocation, then a pause. Then there are several sentences that seem like directions rather than something you say. Is The Speech in the Silence yet another thing you recite, same for all the rest of the things listed in step 18? On 19 what is that? and is step 20 spoken or is it a stage direction?
I haven't ever seen any commentary on it, and just feel like I am missing something.
Anyone have any useful insights?
thanks!

The last parts would be a kind of stage direction' if you "Followed the Path of the Prophets" then' Yea, they disperse unto their homes.
(Follows the Lection.) The lessons' the instruction' written directions'
There is an end of the speech; let the Silence of darkness be broken; let it return into the silence of light.
The speaker silently departs; the listeners disperse unto their homes; yea, they disperse unto their homes.
Nice it is a while since I have run through this' I must admit it is most beautifult compiled and written'
Be Well!

Re: Liber Israfel question
Thu, October 22, 2009 - 3:42 AMQuestion!
If you have no clue of whom is speaking' and who is listening' how can you "Study" all of this work ?
All of this work follows the same "Form"
Again professing 93/93'93 should say you know'
But folks seem to use this "Parrot" fashion'
And yet again'
Aye! listen to the numbers & the words:
4 6 3 8 A B K 2 4 A L G M O R 3 Y X 24 89 R P S T O V A L. What meaneth this, o prophet? Thou knowest not; nor shalt thou know ever. There cometh one to follow thee: he shall expound it. But remember, o chosen one, to be me; to follow the love of Nu in the star-lit heaven; to look forth upon men, to tell them this glad word.
For starters' USE THIS ON ALL THE WORKS !! "Follow the Path of the Prophets"
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
The study of this Book is forbidden.
It is wise to destroy this copy after the first reading.
Whosoever disregards this does so at his own risk and peril.
These are most dire.
Those who discuss the contents of this Book are to be shunned by all, as centres of pestilence.
All questions of the Law are to be decided only by appeal to my writings, each for himself.
There is no law beyond Do what thou wilt.
Love is the law, love under will.

Re: Liber Israfel question
Thu, October 22, 2009 - 12:28 PMIts an invocation. Does not one assume the role one is invoking? Isn't that the nature of the invocation? What or whom you invoke is irrelevant.
The speech in the silence - isn't that another way of saying "thought"?
the words against the Son of Knight -

Fri, October 23, 2009 - 4:42 PMYour conversations are earmarked with the missionary position of the Spaniards as they spread their plague upon the American Indians. Thanks, but no thanks. -

Re: Liber Israfel question
Sat, October 24, 2009 - 11:33 AMBut Anthony... didn't you know that Nobu and Flint are *the* enlightened followers and light-bringers of Thelema?
They know all the mysteries, they have all the answers... and if you want to understand Thelema (even the famous riddle in AL II:76) you have to talk with them! Or, at least, read their enlightened words. Only then will you understand it all. Hehe.
You guys (Flint & Nobu) are full of shit. And you can stick your wise words up your aiwass.
Liked this one? LOL -

Re: Liber Israfel question
Sat, October 24, 2009 - 3:50 PMWow I didn't mean to spark an argument, my intent was to ask a simple question that was bothering me. I thought it was a straight forward question, and was just hoping for some understanding of how this ritual worked, not begin a posturing war...

i think you give me way too much credit. Thelema enlightens my own life. I have no idea what it does, or should, for others. The only mysteries i know, are the ones i have found true to the sphere of my own influence. Aivaz has become Meta, do keep up with his equation, you are terribly out of date. Have a good day young man.

Re: Liber Israfel question
Sun, October 25, 2009 - 3:42 PMi look at 17-21 as separate instuctions of what is needed to know. 19 probably should be after 17. This is a class b, so it has imperfections, and was not written in extreme 'white heat' as Liber Al was. I see 1-16 as the ritual proper, and the rest as slightly out of synch instuctions as to operational procedure, overall energetic feel, and curriculum of expected to be known knowledge. I would think this is to prepare you for a higher rank within a catina, depending on how your branch functions.
now that is just my humble opinion, and not the light bringing truth, by any means. just my 2 cents. -

Re: Liber Israfel question
Sun, October 25, 2009 - 3:44 PMfor me, in the end, many decisions like this, are based on what works functionally, with myself or someone else, in the locus of the rituals.
